About TheraVita Health
What is TheraVita Health?
TheraVita Health is a UK pharmacist-led online health and wellness service offering medical weight loss support, private prescription skincare consultations, hair loss treatment and premium cosmetic products, including Ghanaian Shea body butters.
Our aim is to provide safe, accessible and personalised care, combining clinical expertise with practical lifestyle support.
Who runs TheraVita Health?
TheraVita Health is led by experienced Clinical Pharmacists who are Independent Prescribers. This means our prescription services are assessed and managed by qualified healthcare professionals with the appropriate clinical training to prescribe safely within their scope of practice.
Is TheraVita Health an online service?
Yes. TheraVita Health is primarily an online service. Consultations are carried out virtually, allowing you to access clinical support from the comfort of your home. Where prescription treatment is suitable, medication is supplied through our partner pharmacy and delivered directly to you.
Is TheraVita Health a replacement for my GP?
No. TheraVita Health is not a replacement for your GP or emergency care. We provide private, pharmacist-led support for specific services such as weight loss, skincare and hair loss.
You should continue to contact your GP for ongoing medical care, urgent health concerns or symptoms that require examination or investigation.
Weight Loss Programme
How does the TheraVita Health weight loss programme work?
Our weight loss programme provides pharmacist-led support for eligible adults who may be suitable for prescription weight loss treatment, including Mounjaro.
The process usually involves:
- Completing a free online eligibility form.
- Providing the required health information, measurements, ID and photos.
- Booking a virtual consultation with a Pharmacist Prescriber, if you appear suitable.
- Discussing your health, goals, lifestyle, medication options, risks and expectations.
- Receiving a prescription only if treatment is clinically appropriate.
- Paying for your treatment package after approval.
- Receiving your medication by delivery from our partner pharmacy.
- Attending monthly follow-up reviews for ongoing monitoring and support.
We do not prescribe weight loss medication based on a questionnaire alone. A clinical review is required before treatment can be issued.
Who is suitable for Mounjaro?
Mounjaro may be suitable for adults who meet the clinical criteria for weight management treatment. Suitability depends on factors such as your BMI, medical history, current medicines, weight-related health conditions and treatment goals.
Mounjaro may not be suitable if you:
- Are under 18 years old.
- Are pregnant, breastfeeding or planning pregnancy.
- Have a history of pancreatitis or certain serious gastrointestinal conditions.
- Have significant medical conditions that require further assessment.
- Are taking certain medicines that may require additional monitoring.
- Are unable to provide the information needed for a safe prescribing decision.
Your Pharmacist Prescriber will assess your individual circumstances before deciding whether treatment is appropriate.
Do I need a consultation before receiving Mounjaro?
Yes. A consultation is required before Mounjaro can be prescribed. This is to make sure the treatment is safe, suitable and appropriate for you.
During your consultation, your prescriber will review your medical history, current medicines, BMI, weight loss goals, previous weight loss attempts, lifestyle, potential risks and the support you may need during treatment.
What does the initial consultation include?
Your initial consultation includes:
- A full clinical review with a Pharmacist Prescriber.
- Assessment of your weight, BMI, medical history and current medicines.
- Discussion of your weight loss goals and expectations.
- Review of whether Mounjaro is suitable for you.
- Explanation of how the medication works.
- Discussion of side effects, safety advice and monitoring.
- Lifestyle advice around diet, protein intake, hydration and activity.
- A prescription if treatment is clinically appropriate.
What do follow-up consultations include?
Follow-up consultations are designed to support safe and effective ongoing treatment.
They include:
- Review of your weight loss progress.
- Review of side effects and tolerability.
- Dose review and titration, if appropriate.
- Lifestyle, diet and exercise support.
- Discussion of any concerns or questions.
- Review of whether treatment should continue.
- Planning for maintenance as you approach your goal weight.
How much does treatment cost?
Your treatment package includes the clinical review, prescription, medication and delivery.
```Current Mounjaro package pricing:
Mounjaro 2.5mg or 5mg: £169
Mounjaro 7.5mg or 10mg: £189
Mounjaro 12.5mg or 15mg: £209
Most new patients start on Mounjaro 2.5mg once weekly. Higher doses are only prescribed where clinically appropriate, such as for patients continuing treatment from another provider or when dose escalation is suitable.
Prices may change, so your final treatment cost will always be confirmed before payment.
Do you prescribe Mounjaro 20mg?
No. We do not prescribe Mounjaro 20mg. The maximum licensed adult dose for Mounjaro is 15mg once weekly.
What happens after my consultation?
If Mounjaro is suitable for you, your prescriber will issue a prescription and you will receive an invoice for your treatment package.
Once payment is received, your prescription will be processed by our partner pharmacy and your medication will be arranged for delivery.
If treatment is not suitable, your prescriber will explain why and may recommend alternative next steps.
How quickly will I receive my medication?
Once your consultation has been completed, treatment has been approved and payment has been received, your prescription will be processed by our partner pharmacy. Delivery is usually arranged as quickly as possible, often by next-working-day delivery where available.
Delivery times may vary depending on pharmacy processing times, stock availability, courier services, weekends and bank holidays.
How does Mounjaro work?
Mounjaro contains tirzepatide, a once-weekly injectable medicine. It works by acting on hormones involved in appetite, fullness and blood sugar regulation. This can help reduce hunger, support portion control and assist with weight loss when used alongside lifestyle changes.
Mounjaro should be used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity.
How long will I need to take Mounjaro?
The length of treatment varies from person to person. Mounjaro is intended to support long-term weight management, not a short-term quick fix.
Your treatment will be reviewed regularly. Your prescriber will consider your progress, side effects, dose, health changes and weight loss goals when deciding whether treatment should continue.
Can I stop taking Mounjaro once I reach my goal weight?
You should speak to your prescriber before stopping Mounjaro. Some people regain weight after stopping treatment, especially if lifestyle habits and maintenance planning are not in place.
As you approach your goal weight, we can help you discuss a longer-term strategy, including maintenance dosing, dose reduction, lifestyle planning or stopping treatment where appropriate.
What are the common side effects of Mounjaro?
Common side effects can include:
- Nausea.
- Vomiting.
- Diarrhoea.
- Constipation.
- Reduced appetite.
- Indigestion.
- Stomach discomfort.
- Fatigue.
These side effects are often more noticeable when starting treatment or increasing the dose and may improve over time.
You should seek urgent medical advice if you experience severe or persistent abdominal pain, signs of dehydration, symptoms of an allergic reaction, severe vomiting, jaundice or any symptoms that feel serious or unusual.
Can Mounjaro affect contraception?
Mounjaro may affect how well oral contraceptive pills are absorbed, particularly when starting treatment or increasing the dose.
If you take an oral contraceptive pill, you may need to use a barrier method such as condoms or switch to a non-oral contraceptive method for a period of time after starting Mounjaro and after dose increases. Your prescriber will discuss this with you if it applies.
Do I need to follow a diet and exercise plan?
Yes. Mounjaro works best when combined with sustainable lifestyle changes, including a reduced-calorie diet, adequate protein intake, hydration and regular physical activity.
You do not need to follow an extreme diet, but you will need to make realistic changes to support long-term results.
Do you offer personalised meal and exercise plans?
Yes. We offer optional personalised meal and exercise support for patients who want additional structure.
Our plans can include:
- A calorie deficit guide.
- Meal ideas based on your preferences.
- High-protein meal suggestions.
- Exercise guidance suited to your fitness level.
- Home or gym-based routines.
- Support with building sustainable habits.
The optional Personalised Meal & Exercise Plan is available for £20.
Can I buy a meal or exercise plan without taking medication?
Yes. You can purchase meal plans and exercise templates without taking prescription medication. These are suitable for people who want lifestyle support only.
Can I continue Mounjaro if I started with another provider?
Possibly. If you are already using Mounjaro through another provider, we can assess whether it is appropriate and safe for you to continue treatment with TheraVita Health.
You may need to provide evidence of your current dose, treatment history, recent weight, BMI, side effects and relevant medical information before we can prescribe.
Will you guarantee weight loss?
No. Weight loss results vary from person to person. Mounjaro can be an effective tool, but results depend on factors such as diet, activity, adherence, medical history, dose, tolerance and long-term habits.
We will support you with realistic goals and safe clinical monitoring, but no specific amount of weight loss can be guaranteed.
Skincare Services
What skincare services do you offer?
TheraVita Health offers private online skincare consultations for common skin concerns, including acne, eczema, dry skin, hyperpigmentation and uneven skin tone.
Where clinically suitable, we may recommend prescription skincare treatment, non-prescription skincare advice or a personalised skincare routine.
How does the skincare consultation work?
You will complete an online skincare consultation form and provide clear photos of your skin concern. Your information will be reviewed by a prescribing clinician.
If treatment is suitable, you will be advised on the recommended option, including how to use it safely. If prescription treatment is not suitable, we may recommend non-prescription skincare support or advise you to see your GP or another healthcare professional.
Do you prescribe skincare treatments?
Yes, where appropriate. Prescription skincare may be offered if it is clinically suitable following assessment.
Treatment depends on your skin concern, medical history, current medicines, allergies, skin type and previous treatments.
Do you prescribe oral antibiotics for acne?
No. We do not currently prescribe oral antibiotics through our skincare service. If you need oral antibiotics or further investigation, we may advise you to contact your GP or a dermatology service.
Do I need to send photos for skincare treatment?
Yes. Clear photos are usually required for skincare assessment. They help your clinician understand the skin concern and decide whether treatment is suitable.
Photos are stored securely and used only for clinical assessment and documentation.
Can I get a personalised skincare routine?
Yes. We offer personalised skincare advice and routines as an optional add-on. This can help you understand which products to use, how to layer them and how to avoid irritation.
Hair Loss Treatment
What hair loss treatments do you offer?
TheraVita Health offers online assessment and treatment options for suitable patients experiencing hair loss.
Where appropriate, this may include prescription-only treatment such as finasteride, alongside advice on scalp health, hair care and realistic treatment expectations.
How do I know if I’m eligible for hair loss treatment?
You will need to complete a consultation form and provide relevant medical information. Your prescriber will assess your hair loss pattern, medical history, current medicines and suitability for treatment.
If treatment is not appropriate, we will explain why and may advise you to speak with your GP or another healthcare professional.
Is hair loss treatment suitable for everyone?
No. Hair loss treatment depends on the type and cause of hair loss. Some forms of hair loss require blood tests, examination or referral.
Prescription treatment may not be suitable for everyone, and your clinician will only recommend it where appropriate.
How long does hair loss treatment take to work?
Hair loss treatment can take several months to show visible results. Consistency is important, and results vary between individuals.
Your clinician will explain what to expect before treatment starts.
Can I use Shea butter on sensitive skin?
We recommend patch testing before first use. If irritation occurs, stop using the product. If you have a diagnosed skin condition or broken, infected or severely irritated skin, please seek advice from a healthcare professional.
Can I use Vanilla Veil if I am sensitive to fragrance?
Vanilla Veil contains fragrance. If you are sensitive to fragrance, we recommend choosing Pure Shea instead and patch testing before use.
Are your Shea butters treatments for eczema or medical skin conditions?
No. Our Shea body butters are cosmetic moisturising products. They are not medicines and are not intended to diagnose, treat or cure eczema, psoriasis or any other medical condition.
If you have a skin condition that is worsening, infected, painful or not improving, please seek medical advice.
Clinical Safety, GP Communication and Privacy
Will you inform my GP about prescription treatment?
For prescription services, we ask for your GP details and consent to share relevant treatment information with your GP where appropriate.
This helps support safe, joined-up care and reduces the risk of important information being missed.
If you do not provide GP details or do not consent to information sharing, your prescriber will need to decide whether it is still safe and appropriate to prescribe.
Why do you need ID, photos and measurements for weight loss treatment?
For weight loss treatment, we may need ID, photos, weight, height and measurements to support identity checks, verify suitability and make a safe prescribing decision.
This information forms part of your clinical assessment and is stored securely.
Can I opt out of providing progress photos?
For prescription weight loss treatment, photos may be required as part of your clinical documentation, identity checks and ongoing monitoring.
If you do not provide the required information, we may not be able to prescribe safely.
How do you protect my personal information?
We follow strict confidentiality and data protection standards. Your personal and medical information is used only for appropriate clinical, administrative and service-related purposes.
Clinical information is stored securely and handled in line with professional and legal requirements.
Is TheraVita Health regulated?
TheraVita Health’s prescription services are provided by registered healthcare professionals, including Pharmacist Independent Prescribers, who are regulated by the General Pharmaceutical Council.
We aim to provide safe, ethical and clinically appropriate care in line with professional standards.
